Jacksonville’s Choice for Sewer Inspections

There are several issues that can cause a failure or blockage within your home’s sewer line. Tree root intrusions, damaged pipes, sags in the line, or debris of any kind can cause a serious sewage backup, resulting in a costly and messy disaster. Avoid a catastrophe of this nature by scheduling a sewer pipe inspection with RIA.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Septic System Inspections

While a complete home inspection evaluates the condition of the plumbing system inside the home, it cannot determine if there is an existing blockage inside the main sewer pipe.

Secondary drain lines, interior drain lines, and septic tanks are not included in our sewer pipe inspections. Beginning at the clean out, a camera is inserted into the main sewer line to a maximum of 130 feet or until it reaches a blockage, the city’s sewer connection, or the septic tank.

Your home’s clean out is most likely installed in the basement, crawl space, garage, or yard. If you’re not sure where it is, no worries. Our expert team will find it, remove the cap, and insert the camera.

If we cannot locate the clean out, if it’s not accessible, or if the cap cannot be removed, we will not be able to conduct the inspection. Appropriate repairs will need to be made to make the clean out accessible. We can then return to complete the sewer line inspection.

Once the sewer inspection has been completed, you will receive a detailed report within 24 hours of the assessment. It will include specific information, such as an estimated location of the failure, details regarding the specific blockage, and photos of the problem areas.

Because there’s no way to tell the true condition of the sewer line, a sewer pipe inspection is recommended. Although the home may be new, this evaluation is the only method that can be used to discover if there are any breakages or clogs.

Many older homes have never had a septic system inspection, so this affordable add-on service can be advantageous for the buyer as the average life expectancy of sewer pipes is between 40 and 60 years.

In the case of an impassable tree root intrusion or large blockage, we will stop the sewer line evaluation and wait for it to be inspected by a plumbing contractor.

No, our highly trained staff uses a very small camera that is specifically made for sewer lines.
